When you're packing for a trip, space is limited. Every item has to justify the room it takes up. It should work exceptionally well, pack cleanly, and be durable enough to handle whatever the day brings.
Good gear isn't just useful when conditions are perfect. It needs to perform when the weather changes, the trail gets longer, and plans don't go exactly as expected.

Long before VSSL became a company, it started as a mindset.
Growing up in Canada, founder Todd Weimer spent countless hours exploring forests, mountains, and backcountry terrain. Before every trip, he found himself building, modifying, and refining compact gear systems that could help him stay prepared while carrying less.
Canada became the ultimate proving ground.
The terrain is vast. The weather changes quickly. The distance between comfort and consequence can be shorter than most people realize. Those experiences shaped a deep appreciation for thoughtful design, durable construction, and equipment you can trust when you're far from home.
This philosophy became the foundation of VSSL.
From the beginning, our goal has never been to create novelty products or gear that simply looks rugged.
We build products that solve real problems.
